The Third Academic RNAi and Functional Genomics Screening Meeting
June 9th 2014, London, UK

Brunei Lecture Theatre, SOAS, London

The Third Academic RNAi and Functional Genomics Screening Meeting will take place in London on 9th June at the Brunei lecture theatre, SOAS London.

The agenda has yet to be finalised but it will be a free, one-day meeting from 9.30am-5.30pm and the speakers will include:

  • Steve Brown
  • Emma Shanks
  • Claudio Mussolino
  • Stefan Weimann
  • Kosuke Yusa
  • Jason Mercer
  • Shantanu Singh
  • John Betts
  • Julia Petschnigg
  • Perkin Elmer

The meeting will cover many aspects of current screening practices using RNAi and other functional genomic reagents from experts in the field. We hope to address issues such as how to best employ existing technologies, areas for technological improvement and collaboration and approaches to getting the most out of existing data. As in previous years, the intention of the meeting is to provide a friendly forum for screening groups to talk openly with each other, sharing experiences in an environment, and with an agenda, that they can control and influence. The meeting is generously sponsored by a number of companies who will showcase their products throughout the meeting.

Previous meetings have proved very popular and as places are limited, it is strongly recommended that you register promptly before passing the invitation on to anyone else you think might benefit. Registration also provides you with an opportunity to spotlight either your lab/facility or advertise any courses, vacancies or utilities that you think might be of interest to fellow screeners. Your details and additional information will be made available to other attendees as part of a delegate pack if you wish (or can equally be kept confidential if preferred). In addition, for those who intend to stay overnight there is the opportunity to meet up with other delegates in an ad hoc, informal way either on the evening before or after the meeting.

We will supply you with a more detailed agenda prior to the meeting and you can check the website for updates. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the organisers.
